University of Sports-Rohnert Park
University of Sports is truly an athletic club meant for the whole family. In addition to adult classes such as spinning, pilates, yoga, and circuit courses along with weight rooms, basketball courts and work out equipment, they offer several programs geared toward children and specifically preschoolers. Or, if you want to work out and there are no preschooler classes at that time, they offer very inexpensive child care. Give them a call to get the rates and set up an appointment to check it all out.
One of the classes offered for preschoolers is Tumbling Tots for ages 2-5. Utilizing their indoor soccer field (which is pretty cool by the way!), preschoolers are given the chance to run around and play with a variety of playmats, little tents, tunnels, hula hoops, balls and more. Part way through the class the instructors line up the children and get them to “race” to the wall. They skip, walk backward, and hop back and forth. This offers a little bit of structure to the program without forcing the preschoolers to do something they don’t want to do or are not developmentally ready for. Some of the other classes offered to preschoolers are:
• Kiddie Campus - for ages 18 months to 5 years• Junior Kids Camp - for ages 4 to 6
• Cheernastics - for ages 4 to 10
• KinderKickz Scoccer Program - for ages 18months to 8 years
-additional fee
• Rhythms Elite Dance Classes - for ages 0-5
You do not need to be a member of University of Sports to take these classes
– fee of $80-$110 per month
-Ballet
-Tap
-Jazz
-Tots Dance
-Mommy/Daddy and Me
- Combo Dance
• Arts and Crafts

Benefits to Preschoolers
By nature, preschoolers are quite active. By giving them the opportunity to join more structured athletics you are supporting their growth not only physically but mentally as well. Also, by attending the club with your preschooler you will be a great role model of a healthy lifestyle. With child obesity at an all-time high, staying active is extremely important for your preschoolers future health.Disadvantages to Preschoolers
The only disadvantage might be if your preschooler is shy or has some separation anxiety. If so, you can stay “on the sidelines” and watch for a while to make sure he/she is comfortable with the class. Also, depending on your budget, it can seem a bit expensive.Details
