Pigtails & Crewcuts - Windsor

Emily Haircut ©mcmath2007Pigtails & Crewcuts, located a few minutes up the road (traffic permitting!) from Santa Rosa in Windsor, is a great place to take your preschooler when he/she is needs a trim. The atmosphere is bright, cheerful and fun and it keeps your preschooler entertained during their haircut, an experience that is sometimes scary for them. And when it’s all over, your preschooler will get special treat/prize to make the whole event a little more special. They even have a First Haircut Package so bring along younger siblings too.

What To Expect

Emily Haircut ©mcmath2007

When you get there you will be delighted with the clean and professional look of the place. Your preschooler will immediately spy the Brio train table and cool car and airplane barber chairs. There are several TV screens visible from the chairs showing children’s videos and one of them is rigged with a video game.

The shop doesn’t just do hair cuts. They will also do nail and toe polish, braids, up-do’s and mom and dad cuts. They even have a back room where they host birthday parties. Check out their website for details.

Benefits To Preschoolers

The fun environment makes a sometimes scary experience a bit more tolerable for your preschooler. If nothing else, you can bribe him/her with the promise of a treat/prize at the end. And when the trimming is done, it’s time for a little fun! The stylist will add a little pizzaz to the do with funky gel, pigtails, braids, or fairy dust.

Disadvantages To Preschoolers

One of the disadvantages is the fact that your preschooler will want to look up at the TV screen when the stylist wants them to look down to do the cutting. Just do your best to get him/her to do what the stylist asks. Also, the cost might be considered a little high ($18 cuts, $7 bangs) but it’s worth it just for the sake of giving your preschooler a pleasant haircut experience.
