New Improved Kidspot - Sebastopol

There’s no doubt about it, preschoolers love going to Kidspot in Sebastopol. With all the changes that have happened since the new owners took over last May, your preschooler will find even more reason to beg you to take him/her there. With new play structures to help spark imagination, new prices that make it a little more affordable for parents, and the addition of Gail’s Play Date you and your preschooler will definitely have a great time visiting.

Many Changes

If you haven’t been there in a while, as soon as you walk in you will notice the layout has changed. There is still a retail area but it is not as large as it used to be. Also, there are tables in the retail area for snack time. They used to be in the back near the craft area but now Gail’s Play Date has moved in there.

Gail’s Play Date takes place in a sectioned off area toward the back of the building. She has soft play structures for children to play on and incorporates songs, bubbles, and parachute play with the fun. Check the website for the schedule, there are different classes for each age group. It is a different price for the Play Date area, $7 for a 45 minute class compared to $8 for unlimited play in the Kidspot area.

Some of the new things to play with are a HUGE wooden boat to climb and pretend on, a general store building with things to “sell,” and many new smaller play things like cars to ride on and new train tables. There is still a craft and painting area in the back near the restrooms. With all these changes, there’s plenty to keep your preschooler busy.

Benefits to Preschoolers

Being able to pretend and play with other children is a great opportunity for any child. Through this social interaction preschoolers will learn how to share, what is appropriate behavior in a group setting, and will learn about diversity. Kidspot provides this opportunity in a setting that is fun and engaging for young children.

Disadvantages to Preschoolers

Depending on your preschooler, Kidspot may not hold their interest for long. Some children will play for hours there while others will be bored after only 30 minutes. You will just have to experience it to see if it is the right setting for your preschooler. Be sure to play WITH your child and engage them in all that Kidspot has to offer.
