Kid's Summer Movie Series '08
Preschoolers have the chance this summer to see some wonderful movies geared specifically for them. Once again, North American Cinemas is hosting a Kid’s Summer Movie Series at Third Street Cinemas and Airport Cinemas. Tickets are $3 each (child or adult) and they are offering a special drink, candy and popcorn box for $3 as well. You may even be able to purchase tickets from your child’s school or the Santa Rosa Mother’s Club for an even better bargain - $1.66 per show!
Movies are Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Third Street Cinemas (near 3rd Street Aleworks) and Thursday and Friday at Airport Cinemas 8. All shows start at 10am. Be sure to get there early enough to get a booster seat if you think you will need one because they run out fast and with the high back seats it can be hard for preschoolers to see the screen.
Don’t worry if your preschooler hasn’t quite learned movie theater etiquette yet. Everyone in the theater is either a child or a parent/caregiver of a child so they will understand if your preschooler shouts out “I have to go pee!” in the middle of the movie!
This is a great opportunity to try something new with your playgroup. Why not meet at the movies instead of the park, especially on those super hot summer days. You can also build it into a whole day of fun – bring along a picnic and after the movie you can sit outside near the fountains in downtown Santa Rosa (if attending the 3rd Street Cinemas) or go to the Airport (if attending Airport Cinemas) and watch the planes take off while enjoying your lunch (they actually have picnic tables there!).
